The Michigan State Lottery’s Veterans Day 50/50 Raffle jackpot has surpassed the $1 million dollar mark.

The raffle, which began on Sept. 28, is a collaboration of the Michigan Lottery and the National Guard Association of Michigan. A portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will benefit local veterans.

Fifty cents of each $1 wagered is added to the jackpot. Players may check the exact amount of the growing jackpot by visiting www.michiganlottery.com. At the time of publication, the jackpot was at $1,002,222.

Tickets for the raffle may be purchased at Lottery retailers with a single play for $5 each, five plays for $20, 15 plays for $50, or 40 plays for $100. Tickets for the raffle will be sold until 11:59 p.m. on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.

The final drawing will take place on Nov. 12. One lucky player whose number matches in exact order the number drawn by the Lottery wins the huge jackpot.

In addition to the jackpot drawing, bonus drawings will be held each week starting Oct. 7 and run through Nov. 4. Each bonus drawing gives players a chance to win $25,000.

Players automatically are entered and will be eligible in the bonus drawings when they purchase their tickets. Players who win the bonus drawings still will be eligible for the jackpot drawing.
