Veterans Health Information Fair Coming to Whiteville July 29

VA manager’s email mocks veteran suicides

Military veterans in Columbus County can enroll in health care and get other services at a Veterans Affairs fair July 29 in Whiteville.

The Fayetteville Veterans Affairs Medical Center announced today it will send a Rural Health Outreach team to Columbus County. The fair will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Vietnam Veterans of America Building, 1028 S. Madison St. in Whiteville.

The event also will feature participation from area Veterans Service Organizations, such as the American Legion.

Anyone who served in the U.S. military is invited to attend the event. Veterans are highly encouraged to bring copies of their DD Form 214 (discharge paperwork) and last year’s financial information to expedite enrollment in the system.
